Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra (normalmente llamados TSPO o Ska-Para) entraron por primera vez a la escena musical en 1989. Sin embargo, su "gran comienzo" fue en 1990, cuando lanzaron su primer álbum: "Ska-para tôjô" (que puede ser traducido como "Descarga Ska-para".
Ellos son, sin duda, un grupo que pone todas sus energías en las presentaciones en vivo, trayendo los contagiosos ritmos del ska a la vida. Desde su comienzo, han encabezado y estimulado la escena musical japonesa. Han lanzado varios álbums originales, compilaciones en vivo y han tenido mas de 700 conciertos en Japón y el extranjero.
Sus "ultra poderosas" presentaciones en vivo muestran un severo profesionalismo y un coraje imparable. Mas que solo un grupo de músicos, TSPO ha inundado las pistas de baile con la producción y distribución de nuevos grupos con el sello que recién crearon: JUSTA RECORDS.
En el caso de que estés preguntandote porque no hay un vocalista mencionado en la lista, es debido a que no tienen uno oficial. TSPO hace principalmente canciones instrumentales, y los integrantes cantan en algunas canciones. También han invitado a cantar a algunos talentosos vocalista, como Keisuke Kuwata de Southern All Stars y Yusuke Chiba de thee michelle gun elephant.
Su álbum, "FULL-TENSION BEATERS" fue distribuido por Avex en Japón y por Grover en Europa.
Desafortunavamente, su impresionante álbum en vivo, "Gunslingers" está solo disponible como importación, al igual que Stompin' on DOWN BEAT ALLEY" (lanzado el 22 de Mayo de 2002), mientras que no haya un distribuidor Europeo que quiera lanzar esos álbumes.
Luego de pasar por Europa por primera vez durante su gira en el año 2000, TSPO volvió a Francia en Julio de 2003 para un famoso evento de rock europeo en Belfort.
En 2005, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra volvió a Europa en el verano. La gira europea comenzó el 26 de Junio en Den Haag (en Los Países Bajos), después fueron a Francia y España, y terminaron el 16 de Julio en Festival de Dour en Bélgica.
Skapara ha colaborado con muchos cantantes ajenos a la banda, incluidos Shiina Ringo, Yusuke Chiba de Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, Takao Tajima, PUFFY y Tamio Okuda.
